Product notes

The soil is varied, ranging from gray, brown, or red, and consists of everything from silty sand to clay loam. The vineyard has been in operation since 1849. The estate has been committed to sustainable agriculture since 1990. It has its own cooperage. The vines are grown at an altitude between 220 and 630 meters.

Production notes

Light pressing followed by controlled oxidation of the must. Natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged on lees for approximately three months. Native yeasts. Good rainfall in late winter and early spring replenished the soil. A mild, wet spring maintained moisture levels in the growing vines. Summer and fall were mild and dry, which was ideal for grape ripening and allowed for harvesting at peak maturity. The Y Series is a collection of iconic classics and exciting new varietals. Each wine is authentically crafted from fruit sourced from South Australia’s most renowned wine regions.

Tasting notes

It has a straw-yellow color with greenish hues. This wine offers aromas of orange blossom with notes of fresh ginger, honeysuckle, and white flowers. The palate is refreshing, evoking fresh apricot, white tea, dried figs, and fennel. These aromas lead to a creamy mouthfeel with a silky, textured finish.
