Product notes

The harvest began with a prolonged winter and a cool, rainy spring, delaying the growing season by about two weeks compared to previous years and bringing it back to a more traditional schedule. The abundant spring rains ensured good water reserves in the soils, which were invaluable during a summer marked by alternating heat waves and milder, more unsettled periods. This required close attention in the vineyards, particularly regarding plant health management. In September, a violent hailstorm affected some areas around Alba, but did not compromise the main production zones. The Nebbiolo harvested in October has significant aging potential, producing intense and structured wines. This is a vintage that can be described as traditional, balanced, and promising.

Production notes

The wine is aged for approximately 36 to 40 months before release. Oak: True to Piedmontese tradition, the wine ages in large, untoasted Slavonian oak casks of 30 to 50 hectoliters. The aim is to soften the tannins without ever masking the fruit with vanilla or roasted notes. Bottle rest: After bottling, the wine rests for at least six months in the estate's cellars to harmonize.

Tasting notes

On the nose: This is a very classic Barolo, with notes of dried red fruit, undergrowth, tobacco, and that typical floral touch of rose petals. On the palate: The attack is elegant. The tannic structure is present but well-integrated, supported by an acidity that gives it great aging potential (15 to 20 years).
