Production notes
Maceration and alcoholic fermentation took place in temperature-controlled tanks over a 10-day cycle. Malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels (second-use) followed by 18 months of aging. The wine was then aged in the bottle for 8 months before release. The sculpture and illustration of the “Rhinoceros” date from 1515. Arriving in Lisbon from India, it was the first rhinoceros ever seen in Europe. Dürer created this sculpture without ever having seen a real rhinoceros. He drew it based on a description. The precision of the drawing (with the exception of the rhinoceros’s scales!) made it a source of inspiration for European illustrators.
Tasting notes
Deep red color. This wine offers an explosion of fresh aromas, with hints of raspberry and rose. Flavors of red berries blend seamlessly with light, delicate aromatic notes. The palate is fresh and enveloping, featuring notes of red berries and nutmeg, with a lingering, delicate finish combined with fine tannins and breathtaking elegance.
