Product notes

Casablanca, Leyda, and Zapallar Valleys, Aconcagua Coast. Varied elevations. The grapes grow under the influence of the sea, with cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean, allowing the vines to develop a unique elegance and character. In this valley, cool-climate grape varieties are preferred, such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. The soils consist of granite and a significant amount of clay, which lends elegance and a velvety texture to the wines while enhancing the varietal character of the Pinot Noir. The grapes come from vineyards in the Casablanca, Leyda, and Zapallar valleys, subregions of the Aconcagua Costa appellation Chilean producers use two types of classification for their wines: by wine-growing region and by soil type The Aconcagua regional appellation is thus divided into its various subregions as well as by soil type (Costa, Entre Cordilleras, and Andes)

Production notes

The grapes, harvested early in the morning to preserve their freshness and aromas, are sorted, destemmed, and selected before being placed directly into open stainless steel tanks for a five-day pre-fermentation maceration at 7°C Temperatures are raised to 23–25°C to initiate alcoholic fermentation, which lasts approximately seven days Daily pumping over and punching down the cap After racking the free-run wine and adding a small amount of press wine, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks A portion of the wine (35%) was aged in used French oak barrels for six to seven months The remaining portion (65%) in stainless steel tanks. 10 months in French oak barrels. The vineyards are irrigated using drip irrigation—a regional specialty—with moderate canopy management, resulting in well-balanced wines at harvest time Light filtration prior to bottling

Tasting notes

It has a brilliant ruby red color. The nose is very expressive, revealing aromas of cherries and fresh strawberries against a backdrop of floral notes (rose petals) and wild herbs, with hints of vanilla and caramel. The palate is fresh, with rich natural acidity that lends the wine a refreshing, easy-drinking quality. The rounded tannins provide structure and a velvety texture on the palate. It is medium-bodied. The finish is lingering, elegant, and very fruity.
